The group of students took a bus to the Miami Civic Center where the training was held.† Health Certification instructors Laura Bryant and Nancy Dehart accompanied the students.† The Miami Fire Department worked with the students one on one, rotating through three different training stations.

The students were taught both adult and infant CPR at one station.† Then, they rotated through and were trained on how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to save someone who was suffering from cardiac arrest.† Finally, they moved on to the third station where they were trained to perform the Heimlich Maneuver to save the life of someone who is choking.
