The Delaware County Historical Society is proud ot be the sponsor of the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds north of Jay.
The Historical Society is glad to bring to the area, some good clean family entertainment while using the event as a fund raising opportunity for much needed support for the Mariee Wallace Museum. Bring the whole family to an afternoon of good entertainment while knowing that you are helping to support one of the best museums in the area.
The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is scheduled to arrive in Jay at the fairgrounds at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19. The big top will go up around 9 a.m. Spectators are welcome, so load up the children and, watch the circus come together.
Two shows will be presented, one at 2 p.m. and the second at 4:30 p.m. with each show lasting approximately an hour and a half.
Discounted tickets are now on sale at the Arvest Bank in Grove and Jay, Grand Savings Bank in Grove and Jay, and at the Delaware County Historical Society’s Mariee Wallace Museum located on the south side of the Delaware County Courthouse in Jay. Credit cards are welcome at the museum.
Ticket prices are $6.00 per child from ages 2-12 years and adults are $8.00 each. Buy early and save $1.00 on children’s tickets and $3.00 off adult tickets.
The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is Oklahoma-based out of Hugo, OK. They last performed in Jay two years ago under the sponsorship of the Lions Club.
