Grandwood Assisted Living, 2001 Sunrise Blvd. in Grove, recently celebrated National Assisted Living Week on Sept. 14-18th. Festivities began on Monday. Sept. 14th at 9:30 a.m. with a balloon release with residents, staff, and businesses that made donations for a fun-filled week.
Lisa Friden, president of Grove Chamber of Commerce, read the 2009 Assisted Living Proclamation, and the following attended: Wilkinson Pharmacy, Oklahoma Healthcare, Carter Healthcare, Hospice of Owasso, Worley’s Funeral Home, Good Shepherd Hospice, Beggs Pharmacy, Amedysis, Generations, Regency Hospice, and Heaven and Earth Hospice. Residents and staff had themed lunches all week, and a luau with entertainer Duke Mason on Thursday, Sept. 17th.
Hawaiian food was provided, door prizes awarded to residents and staff, and Freckles the clown provided balloons and face painting. Hanna Frazier, marketing, of Heaven and Earth, made cotton candy and sno cones.
