Pelivan Transit is a non-profit corporation that is owned and operated by Grand Gateway Economic Development Association headquartered in Big Cabin, Oklahoma. Pelivan provides rural public transportation services to the cities and surrounding areas of Claremore, Grove, Miami, Owasso, Pryor and Vinita with local, state and federal grants. The Pelivan Transit System provided 158,170 passenger rides and traveled 835,745 revenue miles last year from October 2007 to September 2008. Pelivan currently employs 65 employees and operates a fleet of 51 vehicles that includes ADA 4-passenger mini-vans, 14-passenger vans, ADA 11-passenger micro-buses, ADA 19-passenger commuter buses, and an ADA 22-passenger vintage trolley replica bus.
Pelivan Transit will be making the following progressive changes to their system becoming effective January 4, 2009:
New Work Routes:
New work routes will begin operation on Sunday, January 4, 2009 from Pryor, OK to the Will Rogers Downs Casino near Claremore on Highway 20 and the Cherokee Casino in Catoosa. These new routes are sponsored by grants from the Cherokee Nation and federal grant (JARC Jobs Access Reverse Commute) secured through Grand Gateway. They are designed to accommodate employment and entertainment transportation needs. Debbie McGlasson, Pelivan Transit Director, has been planning these routes with Michael Lynn and Rob Endicott with the Cherokee Nation as well as Darrell Adrian and Emily Bushyhead with Cherokee Nation Enterprises. These routes will accommodate staggered shift times for the 1st and 2nd Shifts and will also include a midnight route. Contact the Pelivan Dispatch Center at 800/282-2014 for the transit bus schedule and the park and ride locations. The fares for this employment transportation will be $2.00 one way. The bus is open to the public depending on seating availability. The following Route Schedule will begin on Sunday, January 4, 2009.

lot near Chillis).

$2.00 one-way fare.
Please arrive at your departure location 5 minutes before your scheduled departure time.
City/Rural Fares Combined:
All City and Rural Route (2 miles beyond City limits) fares will be combined into the City fares rates of $2.00 for 60 years older/Students K-6th Grades or $2.50 for under 60 years. The variable distance/Bus Lines/Airport Shuttles fares rate will be $1.50/mile. Employment transportation will cost $2.00 one way (any age) for City/Rural and established routes. The Miami Trolley rates will be $1.00 per ride to all entertainment and hotel venues or the regular City/Rural rates for all other ridership needs. Discount punch cards are available for perpetual ridership (purchase 10 rides and get 11th ride free). The hours of operation for demand response services in the cities of Grove, Miami, Owasso, Pryor and Vinita will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Claremore will operate Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Airport and Bus Line shuttles are available 24/7 but require a 24-hour advance reservation. Work routes from Miami, OK to Noel, MO operate Monday through Friday to accommodate Tyson Foods 1st and 2nd shift schedules; MAIP Employment Feeder routes from outlying areas/counties into the Mid-America Industrial Park operate Monday through Friday for the 1st Shift (Phase 1).
