A family member faces a deadly disease. Your neighbor desperately needs Jesus, but turns away every time you try to share Christ. A nation begins to crumble because its people follow their own evil ways. But what can you do?
Often, the problems we face seem too big for us. No matter how much we try, we cannot solve them on our own. It’s times like these when we need to turn to the Lord in intercessory prayer. Intercession is prayer that pleads with God for your needs and the needs of others. But it is also much more than that. Intercession involves taking hold of God’s will and refusing to let go until His will comes to pass.
Intercession is warfare — the key to God’s battle plan for our lives. But the battleground is not of this earth. The Bible says, “We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and spiritual powers in the heavens above” (Eph. 6:12). House of David has announced that it is offering classes on Tuesday nights to equip believers in today’s world.
“We believe it is critical to provide believers with the tools they need to navigate life in these final days; that’s why we’re suspending our services on Tuesday nights to offer these specialized classes,” says Rabbi Curt Landry, congregational leader of House of David. The class on intercession will be led by Dennis and Gennie Hohfelder, who are long time intercessors in the International House of Prayer.
In addition to a class on intercession, the first session of classes includes a class on marketplace ministry. Today, many people are tired of “religion” and have given up on God. They are completely unaware of the love of Jesus and His redemptive power that is available to believers. “Marketplace ministry” identifies the opportunities to share this good news in the mission field that most people enter on a daily basis. Randy Williams, Sales Representative and Sales Trainer for Great Dane Trailers, LLC, Dr. Stan Crawford of Grove Dental, and Joe Nowlin of Applied Products, all residents of Grove, will be instructing the 9 week course. The class is designed to help you to identify yourself in the marketplace, to recognize opportunities to minister and how to hone your skills to be an effective minister.
The public is invited to attend these classes which are free of charge. The classes begin with worship at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evenings. House of David is located in Fairland, at 22500 Highway 125 South. House of David is a non-denominational congregation, as well as an international television and humanitarian aid ministry. Its services are held on Tuesdays at 7:00 and Fridays at 7:45 p.m. Services may be watched live on the One New Man Network on the World Wide Web.
