Wyandotte Public School will begin classes on August 17. There will be a Parent Night for students and parents on August 16 from 4:00 to 7:00.
Students attending NE Tech Center will begin those classes August 11 and buses will pick them up and return to them to the front of the high school. Morning vo-tech students must meet the bus at 8:00 a.m. and afternoon students meet the bus at noon.
Students planning on participating in middle school or high school sports must have a current year physical on file before school starts. Forms are available at the middle school/high school office.
Days/times for pick-up of high school student schedules and to visit with the counselor or principal about any schedule changes are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 (noon) on the following:
Seniors – Monday, August 8
Juniors – Tuesday, August 9
Sophomores – Wednesday, August 10
Freshmen – Thursday, August 11
Days for middle school students to pick up their schedules from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on the following:
8th graders – Monday, August 8
7th graders – Tuesday, August 9
6th graders – Wednesday, August 10
The Wyandotte Board of Education adopted student handbook/ policy changes at the June board of education meeting. Some of these changes involve dress code for middle/high school students. No holes, rips or tears above the knee in any garments. Shorts and skirts must reach the top of the knee when standing. No sleeveless tops/shirts of any kind. The new dress code applies to both male and female students.
Student parking will all be in the new lots north of the gymnasium and parking permits may will be issued at the beginning of school.
Students need to be up-to-date on immunizations. All incoming 7th graders must have proof that they have received the additional booster of T-DAP. Contact the Ottawa County Health Department if you have questions about this.
Students new to the district need to enroll prior to August 16. Parent/guardians can bring them to enroll any day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the school offices. Documents needed will be: immunization record, birth certificate, CDIB card, social security number, and proof of residence.
