OKLAHOMA CITY – Grove Area Chamber of Commerce President Lisa Friden has been named 2009 Executive of the Year by the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executives Association (OCCE).

The announcement was made Nov. 6 at the organization’s annual meeting in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

 “Grove Area Chamber, under Lisa’s leadership, has re-activated a Legislative Affairs Committee putting the Chamber in the forefront on business and community issues of importance to the Grove business community” said Rich Cantillon, 2008 Executive of the Year recipient, referencing numerous letters of reference from the Chamber Board. 

“Grove Chamber has increased and retained membership within the area during a challenging economy.  We applaud her efforts and are pleased to recognize her tenure of twelve years (12) in the profession with this award,” Cantillon added.

To honor Friden, four leaders of the chamber board and community made a surprise appearance. Guests included Dink West, Broc Unruh, Wanda Endicott and Joy Justice.

The Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executives Association (OCCE) is a statewide organization for chamber professionals (CEO’s and staff) dedicated to the professional development of its members and to the chamber of commerce profession throughout Oklahoma.  The Executive of the Year award is the highest award given to a Chamber professional currently employed in the profession.   www.occe.com
