A treasure hunt geared at raising the interest of area youth is in the works at Sudden Impact, the youth outreach of Impact Ministries of Grand lake.

Youth Pastors Scott and Tena Knowles said they hope to be able to offer cash and prizes of between $500 - $1000 by getting sponsors for the event.

“Because we are endeavoring to build our church youth ministry, the clues will be given out first at Sudden Impact Youth Ministries at the end of each youth service on Wednesday evening,” said Scott Knowles. “An additional clue will be given at the end of each Sunday morning service at Impact Ministries.”

Knowles said the clues will then be posted in at least 10 public locations and on the ministry's website, www.impactministriesofgrandlake.com the following day, among other announcements.

Every young person 18 and under are qualified to search for, find and claim the treasure. It is not a requirement that they or their families attend Impact Ministries, however all are invited and encouraged to attend.

Once the box is found, the prize winner will follow the instructions in the box to claim the treasure.

“We need sponsors to help us make this one of the most memorable Christian events in many young people’s lives while at the same time exposing them to the Gospel of Christ,” Knowles said, “Something as small as a $5. donation can be a part of making a giant and lasting impact on many kids in our community,” he said.

Sudden Impact Youth Ministries meets each Wednesday evening at 7 pm. and Impact Ministries has adult services Sundays at 11a.m. and 6 p.m. with a Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. study going throught the entire Bible. We have Impact Kids children’s church Sunday mornings following parise and worhip. A nursery is provided.
