What it means to have faith like a child is the subject of Dr. Lawrence’s sermon come Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m.
Sometimes the sayings of Jesus, as recorded in the gospels, can scare us. For instance, Jesus, speaking to the Disciples who wanted the children kept from Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child, will never enter it.” That appears difficult on one hand, but exciting and encouraging on another. Do you remember what it was like being a child? Was there not a sense of belonging to the whole universe and to God, especially? There was that sense of trust and playfulness that we enjoy early on in life until we matured and found ourselves in the “real world.” The pastor believes that “childlike” faith can be resurrected. We can become a child again, full of wonder and at peace with ourselves in this turbulent time. On being a child again we can claim our blessed place in the Kingdom of God. Come join us in worship.
