VIOLET MCKINLEY

SEPTEMBER 3, 1921 - OCTOBER 27, 2008

 COLCORD - Violet Mary McKinley, 87, of Colcord, Oklahoma, died October 27, 2008, at Quail Ridge Living Center, West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma. Born September 3, 1921, in Delaware County, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Sam Beck and Millie Pryor Beck. She was a lifetime resident of Delaware County and was a line worker for Plus Poultry and Peterson Industries prior to her retirement. Violet was a member of the Free Holiness Church, Colcord, Oklahoma. She married Orval McKinley on December 29, 1939 in Delaware County, Oklahoma.

  She was preceded in death by her husband Orval McKinley in 1987; four sisters, Marie Spence, Beulah Asher, Evelyne Mullins, and Pearl Beck; one brother, Cleo Beck; and one son, James Edward McKinley.

  Survivors include two sons, Richard McKinley and wife Pat and Donald McKinley, all of Colcord, Oklahoma; one daughter, Connie Caudell and husband Eddie of Colcord, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and one sister Inice Hasty of Lanagan, Missouri.

   Pallbearers will be Sam Mullins, Rick McKinley, Don McKinley, Jr. Graling Inlow, Steve Dickey, Carl Denny, Keith Jones, and Robert Lee.

  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2008, at Mt. Hermon Church, near Jay, Oklahoma, with Jack Shaffer, O.B. Carlton, and Betty Carlton officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.   Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
