The perfect gift is getting closer to the most popular time of the year, the time of giving and getting gifts.
There are all kinds of shoppers; some have a list of names that they will be shopping for. More than likely the gifts have been purchased, wrapped, and are under the tree.
Then there are those who have a faint idea of who they will buy for, but have yet to purchase a gift.
Gifts come in all different sizes, shapes and categories. Not every gift can be purchased at a store. Some gifts come to people in strange places.
There is the family that has spent the past few months at the hospital. Their loved one has just finished a series of tests and they are waiting for the results. The perfect gift for them gift would be good news.
For the ones who have recently lost their home and contents in a fire, it would be nice to have a warm place to sleep at night.
Sometimes the perfect gift is far from the most expensive or the largest. How many times have we watched a small child forget about an object that came in the box and choose to play with the box instead?
The only perfect gift came from God. How long did God search for the gift? What great price did He pay?
Godís gift came from His heart. It was given with all the love in the world. It cost Him more than money and time.
You wonít find Godís gift under your tree this year. It wonít be wrapped in fancy paper and ribbons. There wonít be a tag with your name on it.
When you decide to accept Godís gift, the life of His only Son, it will be a life changing decision. Godís gift is the Gift of Life.
The birth of Christ was only the beginning of the Gift. Jesus was born in a manger in a stable, not a warm hospital. There was no gift tag, only Godís words, "For Unto You is Born This Day." He was wrapped in swaddling clothes, not glittery paper. A star appeared over the place where Jesusí birth took place, not on the top of a tree. Angels sang carols to announce the birth. Shepherds and wise men came to see the new born King.
Are you still looking for the perfect gift? Stop looking! It has been found. During this Christmas Season accept the Gift of God, Jesus. It is a guarantee of Eternal Life in Heaven.
Luke 15:7, "I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent."
