It’s just not been a good week for the Obama Administration.

From the Benghazi hearings where it’s becoming clear that the cover up went all the way to the top, to the egregious behavior of the IRS, to the emerging scandal of the Justice Department secretly subpoenaing Associated Press phone records, we have a picture of an administration unraveling at the seams.

It’s now becoming clear to the American people, that the emperor not only has no clothes, but that he never had any to begin with.

Let’s recap. On Sept. 11, 2012 the American consulate in Benghazi, Lybia was attacked, killing several people including the ambassador.

The president went to bed while this was going on and no help was sent.

Administration spokesmen were out the next day saying a video caused the whole mess. When it became clear the video was not the issue and it was a deliberate attack by an Al Qaeda franchise a whitewash “investigation” found there was no way to get assets there in time to do any good.

Except several whistleblowers are saying there was, they were on their way, and were told to stand down.

Whoops.

So then just a few days later we find out that the IRS has been giving extra scrutiny to conservative groups which were applying for non-profit status. Particularly if they had things in their titles like “tea party,” “9/12” or “patriot.”

Apparently the “extra scrutiny” meant those groups had their status delayed by months while liberal groups sailed through. It’s so bad even the ACLU — no friends of conservatives they — said the scandal was “. . . about as constitutionally troubling as it gets.”

Whoops.

THEN we find out that DoJ has now managed to get crossways of one of the administration’s staunchest allies — The Associated Press.

Fox News reports that the government seized the records for more than 20 phone lines assigned to AP in April and May of 2012.

According to Fox, “rules published by the Justice Department require that subpoenas of records of news organizations must be personally approved by the attorney general, but it was not known if that happened in this case. The letter notifying AP that its phone records had been obtained through subpoenas was sent Friday by Ronald Machen, the U.S. attorney in Washington.”

Given that AP is a bastion of the MSM and has given much cover to the administration over the last four years or so, this was a particularly stupid move.

Er, whoops?

Anyone sensing a pattern here?

What it comes down to — and these scandals make it clear — is this administration feels bound by no law or custom.

They believe the Constitution is something which applies to other people.

This is a symptom of an administration and a president out of control and the implications are more than a little frightening.

They have violated the First Amendment three different times _that we know of_ in the last year.

Leave aside the repeated attempts to subvert the second, the ignoring of the fifth, the destruction of the 10th.

Tyranny anyone?

Were I a Democrat lawmaker I would be livid. The chance that they were going to take back the house in 2014 is now more or less nonexistent.

Most of the democrat house members that are up for reelection in just over a year, whose campaigns will soon be starting are now wondering if their seats are safe.

I predict a very long second term for the president and his minions as his allies begin to turn on him.

All IMHO, of course.
