Pastor Rafael Cruz, father of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) will be the featured speaker during the upcoming Lincoln/Reagan Dinner.

Organized by the Delaware County Republican Party, the event is set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Grand Lake Casino Event Center, 26301 South 655 Road (Highway 10), Grove.

Cruz, born in Cuba, immigrated to the United States more than 55 years ago. Event organizer John McArtor said Cruz fled Cuba after fighting in the revolution, was imprisoned and tortured. He arrived in Texas "penniless, not speaking a word of English."

Today, McArtor said, Cruz is a pastor of a church in Dallas and serves as the Director of Purifying Fire Ministries ministering in the U.S., Mexico and Central America. He also serves as a professor of Bible and Theology and the president of Kingdom Translation Services.

"We think there will be great interest in hearing Pastor Cruz’s message about freedom, liberty and American exceptionalism, McArtor said. "It is an honor to have him in Grove and are excited that he is available to come for our event."

The meal, will have a Western theme, with participants encouraged to wear their favorite Western wear. The event will include barbecue, catfish, all the trimmings, and a drink and dessert.

McArtor said seating is limited and due to the nature of the speaker, he anticipates selling out quickly.

Tickets are $60 per person and available at Picture Framing & More, located at 407 South Main Street. Grove. For more more information, persons interested may call 918-964-9377.
